Monument to Kobzar in Athens
Kobzar’s marble bust was erected in the Greek capital – Athens. Lviv region allocated 150 thousand UAH to produce and install the monument. The sculpture’s author is Volodymyr Odrekhivsky, a noted Ukrainian artist and Professor at the Lviv National Academy of Arts.
Shevchenko’s Rarities: A Long Way Back Home
An exhibition called “Taras Shevchenko. Lost and Regained Rarities” was opened in the National Museum of Literature on the eve of Kobzar’s birthday. The exhibits include rare manuscripts, photographs, letters and sketches connected with the name of the great poet and recently returned to Ukraine from the USA.
Mysterious Colored Stories
Kyiv journalist and poetess, Valentyna Davydenko, started painting five years ago. Since that time she has been magnetized by the “precious places and golden planets” of art. She organized her third personal exhibition of oil and water color paintings in Kyiv House of Scientists recently.
Artist Lives for the Day
The 85th birthday of the Honored Artist of Ukraine, Opanas Slastion Prize winner, Chevalier of the Order of Carl Faberzhe, Victor Brykulets, was celebrated in Myrhorod Local History Museum.
