President Victor Yanukovych met with the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, in the framework of the official visit to Moscow.

“I am convinced that the financial-economic crisis in Ukraine and Russia shed light on a lot of issues and made us appreciate our mutual work more,” Victor Yanukovych said at the meeting. He underlined that Russian and Ukrainian people now understand it more clearly.

“The internal and external policies of Ukraine are to be reconsidered, taking into account the opinion of the Ukrainian people. When meeting the Russian President, Dmitriy Medvedev, I said that we want to make an about-face in our relations with Russia,” the Head of the Ukrainian State underscored. He expressed confidence that these issues are to be resolved soon.

“Professionals, people who know what responsibility really means, are now coming to power. I am convinced that we will put things in order both in direct and figurative sense.”

According to Victor Yanukovych, the European Union will also benefit from the constructive relations between Ukraine and Russia. “I think that Ukraine, Russia and Europe need it, because our collaboration greatly influences our partners in Europe and the whole world,” he said.
